Stan & Ollies Restaurant

We had a table booked at 19.30 for 2. On arrival we were greeted very nicely and welcoming where we were shown to our table and given menus. We ordered 2 drinks, 1 spirit & soda plus 1 zero beer. Our order was then taken, starters: Brie and quail scotch eggs these were served super fast! After finishing we asked for a 15 minute break for our main course and ordered the same drinks again, 15 mins was not given and our main course arrived, ribeye steak and surf & turf, both ordered medium. My husband had to send his steak back as it was very rare, when he received it back the sides (chips, onion rings and veg had not been refreshed neither had the plate been changed). We were checked upon to be asked "is the steak okay second time round" my husband did comment on the sides not being fresh and the food returned on the same plate, the waitress said she would tell the chef. We decided not to have dessert as everything seemed to be super fast. We then asked for the bill, paid and left. Our evening took all of 47 minutes, which I am still feeling rather bizarre about but I think the biggest thing was the cost €92. I am not saying the food wasn't good, it is a shame that the steak wasn't cooked correctly to start with (maybe if chef had taken the 15 mins it would have been) I just think charging those prices there should be linen cloths and napkins, where as it is paper napkins (not of a high quality) and a wipeable tablecloth. The team were friendly, again the reason for my mark down in stars was the comment made, it is just an easy way to dismissive customers comments just to say will tell the chef. Surely a meal sent back should be replated and fresh sides done automatically. I don't know why everything about our evening was so fast as there were tables in there before us, who were still enjoying there evening but maybe they were eating of the set menu which is 3 courses I just think it wasn't value for money.

Heel lekker gegeten. Met name de Thaise mosselen waren heerlijk. Heel vriendelijk personeel en erg lekker. Update september 2026: we zijn hier op een zaterdagmiddag voor een lunch geweest met 5 personen. We hadden 4 dagmenu s en mn moeder had alleen een portie kroketten want ze eet niet veel. De dagmenu s waren goed. Het portie van mn moeder bleek uit 2 kroketjes te bestaan dat vond ik voor 8€ wel heel minimaal. Hele aardige bediening. Verder was er bijna niemand in het restaurant dat was wel jammer.

I have often seen advertisements for Stan & Ollie’s Restaurant, so I finally decided it was time to give it a try — and I’m very glad I did! The restaurant is owned by English owners and offers an international menu. The setting is beautiful and inviting, with classic Stan & Ollie figures adding a fun touch to the atmosphere. The high ceilings and nicely laid tables also give the restaurant a very pleasant and elegant feel. I hadn’t made a reservation, but fortunately there was still a table available and I was shown to my seat. The menu had a great selection of different dishes, and there was also the option of a set-price menu, either with or without drinks. The service was excellent. My main waiter was from Germany and had only been working at the restaurant for a short time, but his English was perfect and he also spoke some Spanish. He was friendly, attentive and very professional. To start, I ordered the pulled pork croquettes. This was a combination I hadn’t tried before, and they were served with a BBQ sauce. There were several little details that really impressed me. First of all, there was absolutely no doubt that the croquettes were homemade. You could actually find pieces of potato inside rather than just a smooth mashed potato filling. They were also coated in panko, which made them wonderfully crispy. Another small but important detail was the little salad served alongside them. Yes, you get a small salad in many restaurants, but here they had made a little extra effort with a delicious vinaigrette. It may sound like a small thing, but details like this make a big difference to the overall experience. For my main course, I chose the seafood pasta, and once again the flavour was excellent. It was served by another waiter who politely asked if I would like some Parmesan with it. Yes, please! There was just one small practical issue: the mussel shells kept falling back onto the plate when I tried to place them on the edge. I think the waiter may simply have forgotten to provide a small side plate for the shells. But after just a moment, my German waiter noticed the problem, came over and immediately brought me one. Once again, a great example of being attentive to the guest. The dessert options were presented on a small blackboard, and everything was homemade. I chose the berry cheesecake, and it was absolutely fantastic. Once again, you could tell that it was homemade — delicious! All in all, this was a really enjoyable experience. Great food, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere, with lots of those small details that show that the restaurant genuinely cares about its guests. I will definitely be coming back.
